About Barry Concool, MD
Dr. Barry Concool, a graduate of Columbia University, received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. During his times at Mount Sinai, he served a three-year residency in ophthalmology, ultimately achieving the rank of chief resident. Dr. Concool was also one of two residents in the country selected for the fellowship of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has performed over fifteen thousand LASIK procedures and has been practicing refractive surgery since 1983. Dr. Concool was one of the first surgeons in the nation to be certified to perform LASIK on the VISX Star S4, the Autonomous LADARVision® and the Allegretto Wave excimer lasers. A Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Concool is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, International Society of Refractive Surgery, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
