Dr. Kaplan’s medical foundation was built at the University of Florida, where he earned his medical degree and completed his residency. His leadership was recognized early as he served as Chief Resident and chaired the Resident Graduate Medical Education Committee.

He further refined his skills through a prestigious Surgical Glaucoma Fellowship at Columbia University in New York. Dr. Kaplan is deeply committed to medical education, having held academic roles at both Columbia University and New York University, where he mentored and trained ophthalmology residents.

Since 2023, Dr. Kaplan has served as the Treasurer and a board member for the Florida Glaucoma Society. His ongoing research focuses on aqueous fluid dynamics, striving to advance the medical community’s understanding of glaucoma pathophysiology.
