BOTOX® Cosmetic is designed to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, crow’s feet, and frown lines. These signs of age and stress are typically caused by the contracture of underlying facial muscles. Made of a highly diluted form of botulinum toxin type-A, BOTOX® Cosmetic works to temporarily stop these muscles from contracting, thereby smoothing out facial areas and giving them a more youthful appearance.

BOTOX® injections are administered in the areas targeted for treatment with a very fine needle. A numbing agent can be applied to the area before injection to ensure the most comfortable treatment possible. The entire procedure usually lasts about 15 to 30 minutes here at our practice.

Results from BOTOX® Cosmetic often last three to six months, and can be maintained with occasional “touch-up” treatments. Although patients may experience some swelling and redness in the treated areas, this should fade quickly. Most patients are able to resume normal daily routines immediately after treatment.

I was somewhat skeptical about the success of LASIK surgery, but after having underwent the surgery in October, I would highly recommend the procedure. The clock was only ten or fifteen feet away, but I couldn't tell at all. Ten minutes later, after the surgery was over, I sat up in the chair and was asked the same question.
