Dr. Marc Bosem is the medical director of CorrectVision Laser Institute and a graduate of the University of Miami Medical School. A vision correction specialist since 1992, Dr. Bosem is known as one of the leading refractive surgeons in the nation, and among the first in the U.S. to perform many of the most advanced techniques in LASIK, PRK and cataract surgery.
Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Moria and Bausch & Lomb, he has written numerous and highly respected publications on many facets of Laser Vision Correction and glaucoma treatments. He is active in researching the effects of corneal (front of the eye) laser treatment and presenting his findings across the globe. Dr. Bosem offers expertise in several other significant vision correction procedures.
In addition to spending time with his wife, Karen, and their two great kids, Melissa and Brian, Dr. Bosem enjoys skiing, golfing, running, cycling, swimming and participating in triathlons.
CorrectVision Laser Institute’s Clinical Director, optometrist and Physician Relations Coordinator, Dr. Michelle Gonzalez provides comprehensive eye exams, as well as pre and post-operative care for all surgical procedures. In addition, she works closely with other local optometrists and primary care physicians to ensure the highest standard of medical care for all our patients.
Dr. Gonzalez received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University, School of Optometry, in 2003. A member of the Optometric Honors Society, she received awards of Excellence in Primary Care, Ocular Disease and Contact Lenses. She has been very involved in research studies in the fields of amblyopia, dryness and contact lenses, and is an active member of the Florida and Broward County Optometric Associations.
A Cuban-American born in Miami, Dr. Gonzalez is fluent in both English and Spanish and adores reading and traveling with her family.
Jeffrey B. Robin, M.D. is a Board-certified ophthalmologist and a recognized international leader in the field of elective vision correction surgery. He began performing laser vision correction nearly 30 years ago and has devoted the majority of his career to these procedures, making him one of the most experienced laser vision correction surgeons in Florida. Dr. Robin performed some of the first laser vision correction procedures in the states of Illinois and Ohio before to coming to Florida in 1999, where he has performed these procedures in Orlando, Jacksonville, Boca Raton, Ft. Lauderdale and Ft. Myers.
Dr. Robin was also one of the first eye doctors to have personally had laser vision correction (1992) and has performed these procedures on his wife, children and several other family members and friends. During his career, Dr. Robin has taught laser vision correction to thousands of other eye doctors locally, nationally and internationally. He has held positions at several university ophthalmology programs (including University of Southern California, University of Illinois at Chicago, and Cleveland Clinic Foundation) where he was an active clinician, researcher and educator. He presently is Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine.
Dr. Robin is a graduate of the accelerated Penn State-Jefferson Medical College BS/MD program. He completed an ophthalmology residency at Georgetown University and Corneal Surgery fellowships at University of Southern California and Louisiana State University. Dr. Robin has served in several leadership positions (including President) in the International Society of Refractive Surgery and presently serves in the leadership of the Refractive Surgery Alliance. He has been married to Mary Ann for more than 30 years and enjoys travel, photography and trying to keep up with his 3 incredibly talented grown children.
Dr. Taher is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist with sub-specialty training in Vitreo-Retinal surgery. Dr. Taher completed a two year Vitreo-Retinal fellowship at Boston University Medical Center. He finished his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida and his medical school training at the George Washington University School of Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Near Eastern and North African History at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Taher has authored several chapters in the text “Retinal Disorders and Acute Visual Loss.” He has been involved in the research of surgical treatments for retinal vascular occlusions and laser use in macular degeneration. He also has an interest in diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration. He has also been involved in the management and treatment of ocular trauma and intraocular foreign bodies. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retinal Specialists. He is also a member of the Florida Society of Ophthalmology and Florida Medical Association.
He also serves as a consultant for an educational company based in Los Angeles. Dr. Taher was on the Board of Directors for Pediatric Radiology of America and Cardiac America–two telemedicine companies.
Dr Dan Georgescu is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery specialized in the cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids (blepharoplasty), brows (browlift) and face (midface, lower face and neck-lift) as well as facial esthetics (Botox and fillers). He is also an expert in orbital (around the eyes) and lacrimal (tearing) surgery.
After completing medical school in Europe and graduate school at Yale University and UT Southwestern Medical Center, he trained as an Ophthalmologist at Moran Eye Center, University of Utah. Following a 2 year fellowship in Oculo-facial Plastic Surgery at the Center for Facial Appearances with Dr Richard Anderson, the most sought-after fellowship training in the country, Dr Georgescu became a Professor of Oculo-facial Plastic Surgery at the Johns Hopkins Medical Center, the # 1 ranked US Hospital 12 years in a row.
Dr Georgescu is the author of many scientific articles and book-chapters in the field of cosmetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgery and has trained residents and young doctors for over 8 years.
Dr. Georgescu also enjoys doing many outdoors activities with his wife Monica, traveling and singing in opera choir. His most recent performance in San Sebastian, Spain with the renowned Romanian tenor Theodor Ilincai in Puccini’s Tosca was a great success.
